Boston, MA: Privately issued for C. Nile Dix and his Friends, 1920. Limited Edition/Unique. Hardcover. A rollicking tale of debauchery on the high seas, with voyagers on a ship beset by pirates who turn out to be gentlemen and their leader British nobility. This is an unusual copy. Bound in boards and bearing the title page of the 1920 privately printed edition, the textblock is printed in mimeo (recto only) in 45 pages (vs. 52 for the printed edition). There is a frontis and additional plate tipped in. We *believe* this copy is likely the final draft, bound by the publisher, as it came in with a small cache of material that originated with a boutique print shop. The text matches the Dix textblock. Unique copy. Very Good. Light shelf/edge wear, tips through, glue staining related to tipped in plates, else tight, bright, and unmarred. Quarterbound, tan cloth spine, black paper boards, frontispiece. 4to. 45pp. Illus. (b/w plates). Item #10146
