The Devil in the Flesh [Translated from the French].

Self-published, nd [circa 1930]. First Edition. Original Wraps. Early 20th century fetish erotica, this involving submission and flagellation. Identified as 'Book 1', but there is no record of a later volume, nor is there any indication that it was, in fact, 'translated from the French.'
Early mimeo sexually explicit series. It is difficult to find these early, mimeo examples of sexually explicit prose and, for all the usual reasons, it is harder still to find complete multi-volume sets. Poorly printed, poorly bound, and of subject matter that was often disposed of rather than tended to, they seldom pass the test of time. This is especially true of these early, 13 line per page copies, with a relatively small number of examples in various collections. As printed illustration was beyond the technology used, these are illustrated with four b/w photographs in each volume. Good+ in Wraps. Light shelf/edge wear, minor creasing to front wrap, blank 'plate mount' leaves are toned (newsprint), one corner of ffep off but laid in, else tight, bright, and unmarred. Blue paper wraps, black string binding. Small 8vo. 201 pages. Item #10506
