Boston, MA: Webster & Co., nd [circa 1920]. First Printing. Unusual and scarce ephemera from the renowned and now lost Islesboro Inn. "[T]rains are run daily from Philadelphia, New York, and Boston to Rockland, ME ... in addition from Boston the S.S. Corporation's boats leave daily at 5 P.M."
Noting the then newly opened Tarratine Club (1916), "perfect telegraph and telephone connections," three mails daily, and "a competent physician is in attendence." Rooms with a bath started at $85 per week. The Inn anchored an important development led by George Philler, a Philadelphia banker and businessmen.
Includes a list of "Persons Identified with Dark Harbor, Maine" which lists over 60 individuals/familes (e.g. Howe, Player, Forbes, Dillon, etc). Richly illustrated and in very nice condition, these sorts of ephemeral brochures seldom last the ages. Minor shelf/edge wear, hint of age to the staples, else tight bright, and unmarred. Blue paper wrappers, gilt lettering and decorative elements. 8vo. np. Illus. (b/w plates). Item #10728
