God-Man: The World Made Flesh.
Los Angeles, CA: The Chemistry of Life Co./ J.F. Rowny Press, 1920. First Edition. Hardcover. George Washington Carey (1845–1924) was an American homeopath and occultist known for a number of 1910s ‘chemistry of life’ publications, a subject which he referred to as biochemistry, particularly his "The Chemistry of Human Life" (1919), all generally using a mixture of religion, astrology, physiology, anatomy, and chemistry, with a mineral-based theory of human disease. Carey was the first to state that a person's body is a “chemical formula in operation.” First published in 1920, "God-Man: The Word Made Flesh" by George Washington Carey and Inez Eudora Perry explores the intimate connection between the universe and the human body. The authors examine some of the most important questions that have challenged humanity since the beginnings of Christianity, such as the relationship between the divine and the mortal and whether or not humans are born with sin and in need of salvation.
Inez Eudora Perry (March 21, 1871 - September 21, 1961) was an American astrologer and follower of George W. Carey, with whom she co-authored "God-Man: The Word Made Flesh" (1920), and upon whose body of work she promoted biochemistry through the Carey-Perry School of the Chemistry of Life she helped found. She having worked closely with Carey on adapting Schuessler's (also a biochemist) ideas into a more complex system of esoteric healing which lays very much in harmony with the homeopathy and alchemical traditions. Both researchers suggested that each of these inorganic minerals correspond in vibration to one of the twelve signs of the zodiac. As the hermetic axiom “As above, so below, the human body is an epitome of the cosmos therefore the physical and energetic systems of the human body, the tissues and the organs each correspond to one of the zodiac signs." Little is written on Perry, unfortunately, but her contributions to astrological medicine continued to be important well after the death of Carey. Very Good+. Bumped corners, otherwise clean and bright. Bound in half green calf over blind stamped boards. viii, 176pp. Item #11292
