Lux Mentis supports and advocates for artists’ books made by women from Mexico, Latin America, and Spain. We strongly encourage both collectors and institutions to recognize the established history of book art in Spanish/Portuguese speaking countries and continue to support emerging artists from these countries, as well as all women of color working, living, and creating book arts in the United States.

Death, not as in dying, but death as an industry. This week we feature 12 items illustrating aspects of the funerary and mortuary industry and the science of death, including an early 20th salesman's headstone kit, art of death, and various pieces of death commerce ephemera. Enjoy!

This week's list features a careful selection of EX LIBRIS bookplates that illustrate occult and esoteric themes. Of note is the bookplate by Virgil Finlay created for Oswald Train and the strange botany of Czech/German artist Karl Hugo Frech.

Apollo 11 landed safely on the Moon on July 20, 1969. Celebrating 50 years of space exploration, our list this week is all about space, lunar exploration, and history of astronomy featuring an exceptionally composed 19th century manuscript on learning astronomy written by a French abbot with a handmade planisphere, couple of Russian (USSR) space race publications in English, a design binding, and large format celestial constellations maps.
