Atlas en Couleurs des Orchidées Cultivées.

Paris: E. Orlhac, [1911-1926]. First Edition. Loose Fascicles. Text in French. Richly illustrated botanical work depicting nearly all then known species of orchids and their hybrids. Text explores variations in orchids, the use of orchids (e.g. perfume), origin, cultivation, and regional climates. Each fascicle was issued with 3 glossy color plate pages. This is a good working set and, perhaps, a good set to framing plates. Good+. Split and edgeworn remains of one fascicle included, dampstain at bottom right corner of wrapper and Plate 1 [doesn't effect image], Plate 3 shows same dampstain and light toning/foxing [likely after years in contact with non-pH neutral wrapper], textblock shows light even toning, else bright and unmarred. Printed brown paper wrappers, unbound and as issued in original 10 fascicles [there was an additional supplement adding a few pages after issue]. 4to. 91pp plus 30 plate pages. Illus. (b/w and color plates). Index. Item #10176
