Friedrich Christoph Hesekiel (October 27, 1794 in Rehsen – April 14, 1840 in Altenburg) was a German Lutheran theologian. After attending school in Dessau , he studied theology at the University of Wittenberg , the University of Leipzig and the University of Halle . During his studies he became a member of the Teutonia Halle fraternity in 1816 . In 1818 he became pastor at the Moritzkirche in Halle and later hospital preacher. After the theological faculty of the Halle University had awarded him an honorary doctorate in 1830. He advocated church union between Lutherans and Reformed and wrote religious poetry and devotional writings. In 1834 he was awarded honorary citizenship in Halle. He was a member of the Halle Masonic Lodge Zu den Drei Degen. Uncommon children's literature work. Very Good+.
