Commentariorum de Bello Italico [Commentary on Italian wars] [2 volumes, 2 parts].

Lugduni: Lugduni Batavorum (Genoa), 1750-1751. Editio Primo. Full Vellum. Castruccio Bonamici (Lucca , 1710 – 1761) was an Italian man of letters. Soldier of Charles III of Naples, he took part in the battle of Velletri (1744), later narrating the event in De rebus ad Velitras gestis (1746). He then narrated the war that followed until 1748 ( Commentariorum de Bello Italico libri , 1750-51), glorifying in the third book, a bitter enemy as he was of the Austrian Empire, the heroism of the Genoese. Pietro Giordani said of De Bello Italico that "it is a great thing, worthy of ancient centuries", and called Castruccio "most excellent and very similar to the best" Very Good. Discoloration, moderate rubbing and toning on edges, chipping to edges, venly toned on edges, else tight, bright, and unmarred. Full leather vellum, open stitch with marbled edges, handwritten in ink spine title. All the title pages in red and black with central woodcut mark, elegant historiated initials and engraved headpieces. Only two volumes. 4to. xx, 128; xix, 122pp Illus. (b/w) woodcuts. Text in Latin.
