Augusta, ME: Ayer Studio, nd [circa 1870-1880]. Unique. Two bird's eye views of Augusta, Maine in the late 19th century, with handwritten descriptions: one image from the top of Bridge Hill, now near the Maine State House and Governor's Hill, taken before the buildings were built and the second looking East from Granite Street. George O. Ayer had a photography studio on Corner Bridge & Water Streets, Augusta, Maine. The image from Granite Street would have been taken near the veteran's memorial burial ground: Mount Hope Cemetery. Near Fine. Fading and minor shelf/edge wear, creasing, and closed tear, but are otherwise clean and bright mounted on cardstock. Text / image printed on verso. Caption titles. Item #13137
