New York: Netherlands Information Bureau (New York, N.Y.), c.1940. First printing. Caption title: "The Nazis in Hollad tried to spread the idea that slaughtering unweaned calves would leave more milk for Dutch children ..." An American World War II propaganda poster depicts a traditionally dressed Dutchman getting his knife ready for a huge pink pig behind him, with a human face and Nazi hat, swastika dangling from its curled tail. The poster featured Hermann Göring (a notorious Nazi official) depicted as a giant pig being carved by a Dutch civilian. Oscar Fabrès (1894 – 1960) was a Chilean illustrator of children’s books and a commercial artist. He studied art in Paris and settled in New York in 1940. Very Good. Light edge wear, fold lines, pinholes to corners, else bright and clean. Cardstock paper. Pink, blue, black. Approx. 30x19" Item #13898
