Originally published as a private limited edition of 250 copies in 1959, this limited edition of 1000 copies was reprinted from one of those copies. The binding is also signficant, the blue boards a tribute to Osler's relationship with Oxford (where the essays were written) and the red cloth a tribute to McGill University (where the letters were sent).
