Black" and "Arch Near Baptist Church, Davenport"). Homer started with Bufford's Lithographs in 1855 at 19 and apprenticed there for two years. Overall, a handsome copy of this scarce volume. Light shelf/edge wear, fraying at head and heel, bottom tips through, penciled signature on ffep, light ghosting at several plates, several plate pages evenly toned (clearly different paper was used for different plate runs), gilt at spine very lightly toned, else tight, bright and unmarred.
