Proposte d’arte Colophon [Colophonarte] has emerged as a major force publishing new artist’s books–in lavish, limited, editions–illustrated by noted European artists. The goal being to bring create living testimony to contemporary artististic-literary culture. The editor/publisher, Egidio Fiorin–animated by an equal passion for literature and visual art–explained his intentions thus: “(...) the book has been and is still now one of the fundamental pillars of advanced societies. But the book can be something more: it can be a work of art (...) an object which, in its paper, the composition of its text, its printing, the involvement of literary figures, artists and artisans of quality, represents an exaltation of human activity, of human capacity for reflection, sublimation and synthesis”.
