If his voice be true.

Melbourne: Masterthief, 2006. Limited Edition. Hardcover. "The issue explored in this book is displacement, displacement caused by conflict. The artist and poet have taken a wide-angled view so there is no direct reference to a specific event or social movement or even to day-to-day life. Thoughts are fragmented and the narrative is not logical. Lyssiotis’ text is at times printed in a colour so similar to the painted background that it is almost impossible to read. This is intentional. We have to work at reading it, like the characters in this book have to work at living." (exhibition statement) "Anne Twigg and Peter Lyssiotis collaborated in the making of If His Voice Be True - which took its final shape during the 34 day Isreali [sic] invasion of Lebanon, 2006. The book is typeset in Times and printed on Magnani Velato Avorio, 120 gsm wove paper. The pre-press work was completed at CJM Graphics. It was printed by Bernie Rackham on a flat bed proofing press at Redwood Prints and bound by Abercrombie Hatch and Sons - the hand binding division of White's Law Bindery. If His Voice Be True is in an edition of 16 [signed by the authors]"--Colophon.
